Susan Worsham; for Midge

This one goes out to Midge. When we were looking at her work on Wednesday, I was reminded of this series by Susan Worsham, called Some Fox Trails in Virginia. There are nearly 40 photos from the series on her website, but the online spread in Ahorn Magazine, where I first came across the work, is much nicer to navigate. Anyway, I'm pretty sure it was this naked bum which triggered my association with Midge's work:

These seem to me to be very personal, allegorical pieces. And the still lives, which she sets up from objects found in her family's home, are some of the most
compelling I have seen in recent photography. And oh, how nice the light is. Makes me want to go to Virginia. Or at least get a set of curtains.

  1. this work is spectacular. I envy the way she captures color. You were right about the still lives, they are wonderful.
